VITAEVISION's fundamental goal is to help you expand your contacts network and promote your professional profile. This implies a certain level of interactivity on your part with the rest of the community and your willingness to share certain information with other members of VITAEVISION. However, your "networking" activities need not to conflict with your desire to protect your privacy.
Below we suggest some guidelines to use our platform safely. It is advised that you should apply these guidelines to the rest of your online activity, for they are useful in making your overall experience on the Web safe.
1. Be sure to adjust your privacy preferences in accordance to your "networking" needs or objectives. By default, profiles in VITAEVISION are "open", meaning that any member of the community may view them. Please visit our FAQ section if you have any questions about the available privacy features at VITAEVISION, and make sure you read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policies frequently.
2. When sharing information on VITAEVISION's various sections (and these include your own profile, pictures, videos, resumes, messaging tools, etc.) NEVER include personal contact details (e.g. your address, telephone, email, etc.), or any information related to personal identification documents (e.g. ID card number or national identification card, passport, driving license, etc.). In VITAEVISION we have included an effective and anonymous messaging system so you do not to have you disclose your personal information. If you ever find it necessary to share with other members your email or contact phone number for any professional issue, we urge you to do so privately, with caution, and understanding that such voluntary information exchange occurs under your sole responsibility. If you choose to include contact information on your profile, make sure it is "professional" in nature and never personal. Remember that you are responsible for all the information and content that you share.
When adding your resume to your portfolio, profile, or to any other section within VITAEVISION, be sure not to include personal data such as your identity card, driving license number, professional license, etc. Remove this information before attaching your resume to your profile. These are not necessary details that will help you achieve your career goals and their posting is not allowed in our platform. While we strive to remove this information as soon as we detect it, it is your responsibility not to include it in your contents while in VITAEVISION.
3. Respect the privacy of others by not posting or sharing personal contact or identifying information about third parties.
4. Report any conduct that breaches our terms and conditions of use and privacy policies, or that violate the principles of professionalism and seriousness that we promote in VITAEVISION. To report inappropriate content or abuse, please use the ‘Report’ links we've provided in the different sections of VITAEVISION. If your report requires it, please send it via our contact form.
5. Do not post, under any circumstances (and this applies to artwork samples), any content where minors may be identified, and keep in mind that according to the Spanish Agency of Data Protection, "capturing and reproducing images of people whom may be identified is subject to the subjects' consent".
6. Do not post links to external sites that break the law, or that are contrary to the principles of professionalism and seriousness we promote here. In particular, do not post links to sites with illegal file sharing (P2P), pornography, casinos and gaming sites, purchase of weapons, pharmaceuticals, etc.
7. Respect third parties' copyrights by posting material which is yours, or which has been authorized to you, to distribute any type of media content (in case of doubt, we require proof of such authorization.)
8. If in the "heat" of some discussion a member goes "out of tune," or otherwise shows disrespect, do not continue the discussion. Notify us through our contact form and let us take action. If you wish, you may block any user so he/she does not contact you with the tools we have put at your disposal in the “Account Settings" section.
9. The Internet is a great tool to share information and promote yourself professionally. However, it must be used responsibly and sensibly. If you receive unsolicited business offers, employment opportunities, etc., use your common sense when responding to them, ignore them, or, if necessary, report them.
10. If you have questions about what you can or cannot post in VITAEVISION, first consult our FAQ section, VITAEVISION articles, Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policies... If you do not find the answer to your question, contact us and send your queries through our contact form. Ask whenever in doubt.
11. If you wish to contact any member of VITAEVISION be prudent, professional and respectful. You can first establish contact by answering some of his/her interventions in the discussion groups or, if the above is not possible, send a contact request from your profile. Wait until the member concerned responds to your request and if he/she does not accept, respect his/her decision. In your requests for contact, write a brief introductory message and invite the recipient to consult your professional profile (never send business proposals or consultations of any kind without first presenting yourself and having been accepted as a new contact). For example: "Hi, my name is ____, ____, and I am interested in ____ . I have consulted your profile / portfolio / blog and see that you have experience and knowledge on the subject, so I would like to establish contact with you ...".
12. Common sense, common sense, common sense. Our team works hard to review the profiles and content posted by our members, and takes the necessary actions for violations or misconduct (from editing content in profiles so that they comply with our policies, to terminating users accounts whose behavior severely violates these). However, it is virtually impossible to detect any violation, abuse or inappropriate behavior instantly, so we ask you to always act with common sense and responsibility.
Beyond practicing policies that are responsible, fair and which adhere to the law as far as privacy, data protection and copyright concerns, VITAEVISION promotes among its members a thoughtful and respectful behavior.
Please help us maintain a friendly and safe atmosphere while observing the rules which involve your participation in our platform, denouncing any irregularities through the links that we've made available to you, and always using common sense in all your activities on-line.
